The Various Ways 3 Resorts In California Are Saving The Environment By Being Green

Another way this is being done is to go to places that also actively promote the more environmentally friendly mindset and that are seen as green places to stay. This article will describe three such green resorts or hotels located in southern California.

They are committed to be a completely green resort in several ways. All staff are trained to use green initiatives and the guests are encouraged to follow the 3 R’s which are reduce, reuse and recycle on their visit. Most of their information is shared digitally reducing paper and transportation is offered for guests eliminating the need for rental cars on the road. They are also working with a nature conservation group to maintain the health of the natural coastline.
The second place is called the Post Ranch Inn and is up on the cliffs of Big Sur, California. It is a quick drive to charming towns of Monterey and Carmel. The resort has 90 acres of protected open areas and they are working on keeping the environment of the animals and plants that live in that area by educating the guests and staff to the conservation work. The resort uses solar power as well as recycles water with a special filtration element and keeps water usage down with low flow toilets and showers. Low efficiency lighting in used throughout the resort as well as recycling bins in all guest rooms assist to cut down on energy. And only organic cotton is used for all the linens.
The third place is known as L’Auberge Del Mar in San Diego and is a member of destination earth which is an environmentally {aware|focused] hotel management company. They have a complete education for staff to use eco friendly practices on a daily basis. One way they try to assist with this is to purchasing most of their organic foods made there locally and from local growers. The property has also been equipped with low efficiency lighting, heating and cooling and water equipment to reduce waste and save energy.
If more people could follow the steps of these places it would help. Try to eliminate your car use by walking or riding your bike to short distances, replace all of your light bulbs with led ones, and attempt to recycle more than you throw out in the trash. These are one of many things that will make a difference in the environment.
