Personalize Your Home With A Few Changes
May 23rd, 2010 Posted in Kitchen Remodeling IdeasYou may be in the mood for change. So you say you want to induce this change in your home? Rest assured there are a number of ways to spice up your home without spending your savings on renovation. Simple changes and additions to what you already own can go a long way in changing your home and give it a personal touch.
For example, you may be on the market for a new dining room set, but do not want to change your entire dining room’s decor. In this case, choose a dining set that fits nicely with the rest of your interior design. This is important if you do not want to end up redecorating your entire dining area.
Think about the color scheme you are working with. If you already have particular colors going through your home, choose neutral tones for the new furniture or accessory pieces you choose. If neutral is not your style, at least make sure that the colors you choose contrast well with the rest of the colors in your home.
If the bedroom is the area you want to transform, but do not want to invest in an entirely new bedroom set, think about changing the bedding. Changing the quilt set on the bed can change the entire atmosphere in the room. You will be getting a change without having to spend a lot of money on new furniture!
The fun thing about quilt sets is that they are available in different styles and colors. You can easily find a set that fits your room, your personality and your home. Are you interested in spicing up your space? Look for daring colors to contrast the neutral theme in your room. If you want to tone down the theme of your room, choose bedding that is softer in color and design.
Check the quality and comfort of any furniture or new bedding you may buy. You probably want to recline in a chair after a long day at work in something comfortable. You also most likely want to rest at night in something soft and cozy. So when making your decisions on buying things for your home keep comfort and quality in mind.
When buying furniture consider purchasing timeless pieces. This is furniture that lasts beyond the seasonal fashion trend. If you buy trendy fashion be prepared to change your furniture when the trend goes out of style. On the other hand, classic furniture does not go out of style. Classic pieces will most likely weather any trend that comes and goes.
