How We Organised A Fantastic Kitchen Make Over

December 28th, 2008 Posted in Kitchen Remodeling Ideas

Working in Salisbury, Wiltshire we have just done a complete refurbishment of our Kitchen, once we had the general kitchen planning worked out we made sure we got the builder in before hand to prevent them getting the new units coated in grime to make a space through into the lounge and outside using Oak Beams to hold up the wall.

To generalise the kitchen layout was a basic U with a central island counter, with a pot rack from the beams. The Fitted Kitchen was in a pretty light oak with spotlights picking up key work zones. We put extra under floor illumination through the kitchen and into the garden and fitted External Lighting to shine down onto the oak flooring or decking outside.

We had the Electrical contractors in Salisbury in, prior to fitting the kitchen to make sure all of the wiring was in place. And to finish with installed the gorgeous pristine oak Cabinets. We finished of this mini project with some beautiful Marca Corona Evolution tiles which looked good with the oak but provided the kitchen a really nice feel.

Take your time when deciding what you want from a kitchen. We purchased lots of papers and scoured the web to find images we liked the look of, we then narrowed them down until we had a clearer image of things that would look amazing in the space that we had provided. Keep a scrap book so that when you talk to people that can do the job for you, they will know the sort of look you require.

Ushaped countertops always allow for a lot of countertop space which is nice for a busy kitchen
